Oil Paint Stain

You should be able to remove the stain by dabbing the area with a paper towel to remove any paint possible, then treat the area with a carpet shampoo. If this doesn´t work, or if the stain is older, you can try using a commercial carpet stain remover. You could also try dabbing with turpentine, then sponging with cold water, but try this in a small area first, to test for color-fastedness.
