Carpet Cleaning in Hackney
Carpets hold far more than they show. Every week, grit from Mare Street pavements, pet hair and spilt coffee works deeper into the pile, wearing the fibres down and trapping smells that a vacuum can’t reach. Leave it a few months and a light mark becomes a permanent stain. Leave it until checkout and you could lose part of your deposit.
Our NCCA-trained technicians clean lounge carpets, stair runners and rugs across the whole borough, from Victorian terraces in Stoke Newington and Clapton to Shoreditch warehouse flats and family homes in Stamford Hill and Homerton. We test each carpet first, choose the right method for wool or synthetic fibres, and leave it fresh and quick to dry. Book seven days a week, often at short notice, with a fixed price agreed before we start.

Typical drying time: up to 6 hours
Survey
We check the fibre, fitting and condition of each carpet and note any stains before we start. Furniture legs go onto protective pads and door frames are guarded.
Pre-treat
Dry soil is vacuumed out first, because water turns it to mud. A pre-spray matched to wool or synthetic fibre is applied and agitated in.
Hot water extraction
Remaining spots are treated individually, then the carpet is rinsed and extracted at controlled heat. A citrus deodoriser goes in with the final rinse.
Dry and finish
An air mover is left running to speed up drying and the pile is groomed in one direction. Scotchgard goes on now if you’ve asked for it.
Professional kit we use: Prochem, Host, RotoVac, Kärcher

What Hackney Customers Say
★★★★★ Trustpilot 5.0 from 452 reviews · Google 4.7 from 361 reviews
“Moving out with three days to spare and a red wine patch right in the middle of the bedroom carpet. They fitted me in on the Saturday, the stain came out completely and the agent didn’t say a word at checkout. Full deposit back.”
Pamela K. · Chatsworth Road, E5
“Our Victorian house has a long wool runner on the stairs and I was worried about shrinkage. The technician tested a corner first and talked me through why he was using a low-moisture clean. It looks brighter than it has in years, and the colours didn’t run at all.”
Tom W. · Albion Road, N16
“We have a Labrador and a toddler, so the lounge carpet had taken a beating. The smell was gone the same afternoon, and we were walking on it again by teatime. Friendly, on time, and the price was exactly what they’d quoted.”
Miriam S. · Cazenove Road, N16
Cleaning Carpets Across Hackney
Hackney’s housing changes from one street to the next. Clapton, Stoke Newington and the roads around London Fields are lined with Victorian terraces, many still with their original staircases, so a wool runner up three or four flights is a common job for us. These runners take the most wear on the nosings and landings. We clean them in place with a wool-safe pre-spray and a controlled rinse, so the pile keeps its colour and doesn’t shrink against the rods.
A lot of the borough lives in flats. Some are in converted houses with steep shared stairs and no lift. Others are in the big estates around Homerton and Woodberry Down, in Shoreditch warehouse lofts with large rugs over concrete floors, or in new-builds along the canal with concierge sign-in and carpet only in the bedrooms. Every visit starts with a quick survey of fibre, fitting and access, so we choose the method before any water goes down.

Access and parking
Nearly all of Hackney is covered by controlled parking zones, and hours differ from zone to zone. Some zones run into evenings and weekends, and the roads near Hackney Wick get extra restrictions on London Stadium event days.
When you book, we’ll ask for a visitor permit or arrange a bay suspension for bigger jobs. If the van can’t park close, or you live on an upper floor, we carry a portable extraction unit up to your door instead of running hoses from the street.

Clapton
Clapton is mostly Victorian terraces off Chatsworth Road and Lower Clapton Road, many split into flats with a shared stair. Tenancies change often here, so end-of-tenancy cleans, heavy traffic lanes in hallways and old stains in rented bedrooms make up much of our work.
Carpet cleaning in ClaptonFinsbury Park
Hackney’s corner of Finsbury Park is the N4 edge around Seven Sisters Road and Woodberry Down, where new apartment blocks sit alongside older estate flats. We sign in with concierge, protect lifts and corridors, and often clean before a handover or a new tenancy starts.
Carpet cleaning in Finsbury ParkHomerton
Homerton combines large council and housing association estates with terraces near Homerton High Street and Victoria Park. Family carpets get a lot of use, so we’re usually treating food spills, pet odours and worn walkways, with fast drying so rooms are ready again the same day.
Carpet cleaning in HomertonShoreditch
Shoreditch is warehouse conversions, loft apartments and serviced flats around Curtain Road and Hoxton Square. Floors are often polished concrete or timber with big statement rugs on top. We clean those with low-moisture methods and work around building access times and loading bays.
Carpet cleaning in ShoreditchStamford Hill
Stamford Hill has large Victorian and Edwardian family houses on roads such as Lordship Road and Cazenove Road. These homes have plenty of bedrooms, long staircases and busy hallways, so we often clean the whole house in one visit and finish with stain protection on the stairs.
Carpet cleaning in Stamford HillStoke Newington
Around Church Street, Albion Road and Clissold Park, Stoke Newington’s period houses still have original staircases, often with wool runners and older rugs. We test dyes before we start and choose the gentlest method that will still lift the grit trodden in from the street.
Carpet cleaning in Stoke NewingtonCarpet Cleaning in Hackney: Your Questions Answered
What Hackney customers want to know before they book, answered plainly.
How long will my carpet take to dry?
Usually between two and six hours. Low-moisture cleaning is at the quick end, and hot water extraction on a thick wool carpet takes longer. Opening a window or putting the heating on speeds it up. We’ll give you a realistic time before we leave, and you can walk on it sooner in clean socks if you need to.
Which cleaning method will you use on my carpet?
We decide on the day, once we’ve checked the fibre, backing and condition. Hot water extraction gives the deepest clean on most synthetic and wool-mix carpets. Low-moisture or dry compound cleaning suits delicate wool, natural fibres and rugs where the dyes could run. We’ll explain our choice before we start.
Can you remove old stains and pet smells?
Most of them, yes. We treat each stain according to what caused it, whether that’s wine, coffee, grease, ink or pet accidents. For odours, we use enzyme treatments that break down the source, so we’re not just covering the smell. A few marks, such as bleach or old burns, have damaged the fibre itself. We’ll tell you honestly if something won’t come out.
Do I need to move furniture before you arrive?
Please clear small items, fragile pieces and anything on the floor. We can move sofas, chairs and tables ourselves, and we put protective pads under the legs afterwards so nothing marks the damp carpet. Beds, wardrobes and very heavy units are usually cleaned around unless you’ve arranged otherwise.
Do you cover my part of Hackney, and how soon can you come?
We work across the whole borough, from Clapton, Homerton and Stamford Hill to Stoke Newington, Shoreditch and the Hackney side of Finsbury Park around Woodberry Down. We’ve been cleaning in Hackney since 1998, so we’re often nearby, and we can usually offer a slot within a few days, including evenings and weekends. Pop your postcode into the checker at the top of the page or give us a call.
I’m moving out of a rented flat in Hackney. Will a carpet clean help me get my deposit back?
It’s one of the most common reasons Hackney tenants call us. Many tenancy agreements require carpets to be professionally cleaned at checkout, and agents across the borough check for traffic lanes, stains and pet odour. We can book around your inventory date, and we’ll give you a receipt to show your landlord or agent. If you also need the rest of the flat cleaned, we can do both in the same visit.
