Once an ancient parish in the former county of Middlesex, today Greenford is a large suburb within the Ealing borough. The settlement was first mentioned in a legal document dated 845 AD. Some of the highlights in the area include Horsenden Hill, which is elevated about 85 metres above sea level; the 14th century Church of Holy Cross; Bethnal House; as well as the A40. A40 is a major truck road that connects London to Goodwick, Wales. The carriageway is 262 miles long and is officially called The London to Fishguard Trunk Road. Greenford is also home to the London Motorcycle Museum. Based in Revenor Farm, Oldfield Lane South, it is the only museum in the capital that is entirely dedicated to motorcycles. The collection starts with models that were produced at the very beginning of the 20th century and follows all the way through the modern day. There are more than 80 beautifully preserved motorcycles on display as well as many objects memorabilia interpreting the story of the development of motorcycles.
