  • About 19 miles south west of London, Box Hill KT20 is a summit of the North Downs in the county of Surrey. The area takes it name from the ancient box woodland found on the steepest west-facing chalk slopes which overlook the River Mole.   • Box Hill is a beautiful and attractive countryside area of woodland and chalk downland situated within the Surrey Hill Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Surprisingly extensive, it is very popular as a destination for day-trippers from London and has much to offer the ramblers and the naturalists as well. Box Hill has many beautiful walks and provides spectacular views towards the South Down. There is a National Trust Visitors’ Centre in Box Hill that provides both a cafeteria and gift shop.

  • Norbury Park is close to Box Hill. It is a wonderful country park that is situated in a short distance from Westhumble village in Surrey. Originally designed as a park of a large country estate held by William Lock, today the Norbury Park is a haven for wildlife and nature and is predominantly owned by the Surrey County Council. The park is the ideal place for a walk and picnic, as well as for a family friendly cycling tour, providing some stunning views of the North Downs.
  • Located close to the area of Box Hill is also the England’s largest and most fascinating vineyard. Denbies Wine Estate is situated in London Road, Dorking, and comprises 265 acres of vines on the beautiful North Downs. The estate has a chateau-style visitors’ centre, which provides guests with daily Wine Experience Tours with an amazing 360 degree cinema, cellar tasting and winery tours. Other facilities not to be missed at the Denbies Wine Estate are a gift shop, vineyard train, exotic conservatory restaurant and the Gallery Restaurant at the 3rd floor that offers some amazing panoramic views.
