Anyclean Is A Proud Member Of The NCCA
The National Carpet Cleaners Association was formed in 1968, in order to:
1. Establish minimum, but professional standards within the carpet and upholstery cleaning industry.
2. Provide training for members, in order to achieve the aforementioned standard and keep members abreast of developments such as new chemicals, equipment and new fibres and materials.
3. Ensure that members have adequate public liability insurance.
4. Provide an advisory service, to assist with problems and handle complaints smoothly and promptly, thereby ensuring that all members live up to the Association's motto "SERVICE WITH INTEGRITY".
Question: What is the main benefit of using a member of the NCCA?
Answer: NCCA members are fully trained and insured for the work they carry out. They are members of the only National Trade Association dedicated to carpet and upholstery cleaning. A careful inspection will be made of your carpet and upholstery so that the operator will be aware of the nature of dyes and the type of fibre and construction. Then the security of the fixing of the carpet at its edges and the condition of the seams will be inspected. In the case of upholstery, a check on braids and other trimmings will be made so that you may have every confidence that your valuable carpetsand furnishings will be cleaned and cared for in the most professional manner.
All carpet cleaning companies and single operators are being trained and certified by the NCCA in order to apply an industry wide standards when dealing with soft furnishings in the UK.
The NCCA could play the role of an independent arbitrator by providing its unmatched carpet cleaning knowleddge, skills and experience to anybody.
What is the Best Method for Cleaning Carpets?
Without a doubt, the best professional method to clean a standard synthetic or mixed fibres carpet is the Hot Water Extraction method. This technique also called Steam Cleaning is currently the most effective way to deep clean and rinse carpeting. One of the main advantages is less resoiling. An extractor machine deploys a high-pressure jet stream of hot solution sprayed into the carpet fibres. Immediately after the solution is pumped back into the waste tank of the machine via powerful vacuum motors. Some extractors have built-in 2 motors and some have 3 vac motors for amazing results.
While this method is highly recommended to use on carpets with synthetic construction (manmade carpet fibres e.g polypropelene). In cases where natural fibres carpeting needs cleaning (Wilton 80/20 twist, 100% wool loop pile, cotton, linen, coir, jute, seagrass) a low moisture method is recommended due to the high risk of damage (shrinkage, cellulosic browning etc.).
What Methods for Making Carpet Look Like New?
- Hot Water Extraction (a.k.a Steam Cleaning)
- Carpet Encapsulation (low moisture)
- Crystallising Shampoo using low speed Rotary Carpet Machine (low moisture)
- Bonnet Buffing (low moisture)
- Dry Foam Carpet Cleaning
- Odourless Mineral Solvent clean (VLM - very low moisture)
How Often Should You Have Your Carpets Professionally Cleaned?
Regardless whether your carpet is woven or tufted, you should aim to vacuum your carpeted areas at least twice a week (homes with more foot traffic should increase this to three to four times a week). Professional cleaning of your carpet is recommended every 12 months (light foot trafic) or every 6 months (high foot traffic).
How Much Does Professional Carpet Cleaning Cost in London?
How much does carpet cleaning cost in London depends on the type of carpet you have. Usually methods using dry carpet shampoo (rotary carpet shampoo machine/slow speed rotary floor buffer) or dry chemical compounds (i.e Odourless Mineral Solvent soaked sponges applied via fibre agitation with counter-rotating brushing system) cost more due to the more expensive products and process time and difficulty involved. With dry carpet cleaning you get the benefit of rapid drying time due to the low moisture left in carpets.
The most popular and most effective carpet method with least chance of antisoiling is surprisingly the less expensive option. Please call our office for a bespoke quote for your London home or office.
Please note that frequent vacuuming will prolongs life of installed carpets and rugs.
I have a carpet made of natural fibres. Can you clean it?
Yes we clean natural plant fibres carpets and rugs. If you have a sisal, coir, jute (a natural fibre that absorbs water), seagrass etc. these fibres can only be cleaned using a dry cleaning system due to the risk of damage from water.
Please note that due to the fibre construction of these types of carpet, removal of stains is limited (and especially in cases of heavily soiled carpet or areas) and it is very unlikely some stains to be completely removed. We will perform a very thorough cleaning process and your carpet will be fresh, clean and healthy although in some cases stains may have become a premanent damage due to the discoloration of the natural carpet fibres.
You need to be aware that jute-backed carpet needs to be dried cleaned even if the fibres are synthetic, due to the risk of shrinkage of the backing.
