How To Make Your Carpets Look Like New

Replacing carpets after accidents, spills and hard to remove dirt can be very expensive. Especially pricey pieces with 100% wool yarns. That’s why we at Anyclean are busier than ever with our professional carpet cleaners' service in London because more and more people want clean, fresh carpets at a very affordable price.
But when you spill something on your precious carpeting - don't worry. The most important thing you need to know is that blotting the spot prevents spreading the mark by rubbing. Transfer as much of the offending stain substance to a clean terry towell. Being disciplined not to rub the stain will improve the appearance of your carpet. Book a professional using commercial hot water soil extraction equipment (or dry compound cleaning machine i.e. bonnet carpet cleaning with an absorbent wool pad, if you have fibres requiring faster drying times). Go the extra step and order stain protector after the clean and next time blotting spills away will be a walk in the park due to the antistaining qualities of the ScotchgardTM protection.
Our company helps you improve and maintain your indoor air quality by removing dirt, dust mites and allergens from the fibres of your textile floor and upholstery coverings. An important step from our 11 points system is to vacuum any dislodged grit and grime from the fibres.
Did you know that...?

Your carpet acts as a filter in your home. Any particles that enter your property via shoes or open windows settle down in the carpet after a period of time. Well maintained carpets improve indoor air quality - a vital part of a healthy balanced life. Only a thorough hoovering combined with a professional hot water extraction clean will eliminate the potential cause of allergen related illnesses like asthma.
Apart from being a beautiful floor covering, carpet reduces noise by absorbing sound. Ever wondered why large rugs are put under drum kits? Rugs/thick pieces of carpet are often used in studios to improve quality of drum kit sounds.
Axminster and Wilton carpets have their backing yarn and pile woven together.
Mould cannot grow on synthetic fibres. Installation of nylon carpets is highly recommended in wet rooms i.e. bathrooms and utility rooms.
Residues help speed up the resoiling process. It is a vital part of the carpet cleaning process that all fbres are thoroughly rinsed. Also important is to rinse out pre-spray completely.
We help your Carpets look like new as well as give you big savings on getting your carpets professionally cleaned by us. Protecting the money you’ve spent on quality soft furnishings.

Anyclean Is A Proud Member Of The NCCA

The National Carpet Cleaners Association was formed in 1968, in order to:

1. Establish minimum, but professional standards within the carpet and upholstery cleaning industry.

2. Provide training for members, in order to achieve the aforementioned standard and keep members abreast of developments such as new chemicals, equipment and new fibres and materials.

3. Ensure that members have adequate public liability insurance.

4. Provide an advisory service, to assist with problems and handle complaints smoothly and promptly, thereby ensuring that all members live up to the Association's motto "SERVICE WITH INTEGRITY".

Question: What is the main benefit of using a member of the NCCA?

Answer: NCCA members are fully trained and insured for the work they carry out. They are members of the only National Trade Association dedicated to carpet and upholstery cleaning. A careful inspection will be made of your carpet and upholstery so that the operator will be aware of the nature of dyes and the type of fibre and construction. Then the security of the fixing of the carpet at its edges and the condition of the seams will be inspected. In the case of upholstery, a check on braids and other trimmings will be made so that you may have every confidence that your valuable carpetsand furnishings will be cleaned and cared for in the most professional manner.

All carpet cleaning companies and single operators are being trained and certified by the NCCA in order to apply an industry wide standards when dealing with soft furnishings in the UK.

The NCCA could play the role of an independent arbitrator by providing its unmatched carpet cleaning knowleddge, skills and experience to anybody.

What is the Best Method for Cleaning Carpets?

Without a doubt, the best professional method to clean a standard synthetic or mixed fibres carpet is the Hot Water Extraction method. This technique also called Steam Cleaning is currently the most effective way to deep clean and rinse carpeting. One of the main advantages is less resoiling. An extractor machine deploys a high-pressure jet stream of hot solution sprayed into the carpet fibres. Immediately after the solution is pumped back into the waste tank of the machine via powerful vacuum motors. Some extractors have built-in 2 motors and some have 3 vac motors for amazing results.

While this method is highly recommended to use on carpets with synthetic construction (manmade carpet fibres e.g polypropelene). In cases where natural fibres carpeting needs cleaning (Wilton 80/20 twist, 100% wool loop pile, cotton, linen, coir, jute, seagrass) a low moisture method is recommended due to the high risk of damage (shrinkage, cellulosic browning etc.).

What Methods for Making Carpet Look Like New?

  1. Hot Water Extraction (a.k.a Steam Cleaning)
  2. Carpet Encapsulation (low moisture)
  3. Crystallising Shampoo using low speed Rotary Carpet Machine (low moisture)
  4. Bonnet Buffing (low moisture)
  5. Dry Foam Carpet Cleaning
  6. Odourless Mineral Solvent clean (VLM - very low moisture)

How Often Should You Have Your Carpets Professionally Cleaned?

Regardless whether your carpet is woven or tufted, you should aim to vacuum your carpeted areas at least twice a week (homes with more foot traffic should increase this to three to four times a week). Professional cleaning of your carpet is recommended every 12 months (light foot trafic) or every 6 months (high foot traffic).

How Much Does Professional Carpet Cleaning Cost in London?

How much does carpet cleaning cost in London depends on the type of carpet you have. Usually methods using dry carpet shampoo (rotary carpet shampoo machine/slow speed rotary floor buffer) or dry chemical compounds (i.e Odourless Mineral Solvent soaked sponges applied via fibre agitation with counter-rotating brushing system) cost more due to the more expensive products and process time and difficulty involved. With dry carpet cleaning you get the benefit of rapid drying time due to the low moisture left in carpets.

The most popular and most effective carpet method with least chance of antisoiling is surprisingly the less expensive option. Please call our office for a bespoke quote for your London home or office.

Please note that frequent vacuuming will prolongs life of installed carpets and rugs.

I have a carpet made of natural fibres. Can you clean it?

Yes we clean natural plant fibres carpets and rugs. If you have a sisal, coir, jute (a natural fibre that absorbs water), seagrass etc. these fibres can only be cleaned using a dry cleaning system due to the risk of damage from water.

Please note that due to the fibre construction of these types of carpet, removal of stains is limited (and especially in cases of heavily soiled carpet or areas) and it is very unlikely some stains to be completely removed. We will perform a very thorough cleaning process and your carpet will be fresh, clean and healthy although in some cases stains may have become a premanent damage due to the discoloration of the natural carpet fibres.

You need to be aware that jute-backed carpet needs to be dried cleaned even if the fibres are synthetic, due to the risk of shrinkage of the backing.

We use hot water extraction method also known as steam cleaning. This is the best and the most efficient method of cleaning carpets. We use also bonnet buffing, shampoo brushing, dry compound cleaning (HOST®) systems.
Carpet drying time depends on a few factors who play important roles i.e carpet construction, the amount of ventilation in the room and whether the heating is on or off. Generally speaking it can take anything from a few hours to a day. The best practice is to provide as much air circulation as possible (open windows) and/or turn the heating on.
In some cases you may have to pay a parking fee or a congestion charge (congestion charge will be charged only if the site address is within the London congestion charge area). If our carpet cleaning operatives cannot park their vehicle free of charge when servicing your address you will have to either provide a parking space or a valid temporary parking permit. If you cannot arrange neither of the above then you will have to reimburse the carpet cleaners with the parking fee they have paid in order to clean your carpets.
We accept all major credit and debit cards, cash, and sometimes cheques. Please note that for same/next day jobs we may require full payment in advance.
