Interesting Stuff
Chipperfield is a village in Hertfordshire, situated north of Watford. For centuries the place consisted of houses only, but after the second world war the village expanded.
St Paul’s Church is one of the principal places of worship and prayer in the area of Chipperfield WD4. The facility was built during the 1830’s. It was set on a cornfield that was bought from John Parsley, who was owner of the Manor House. He bought the land for 500 pounds for the purpose of building a church for the local community and the people from the neighbouring areas. Architect of St Paul’s was Thomas Talbot Bury and the cost for the construction of the church was 1427 pounds. The foundation stone of the building was laid in 1837 and the facility was consecrated by the Bishop of Lincoln in October 1838. Today St Paul’s is home to lively and caring Christian community with members of all ages and backgrounds.
