Kings Langley is a historic village and civil parish. This settlement was once the location of Kings Langley Palace – a 13th century Royal Palace of the Plantagenet kings. Divided by the River Gade, the village lies within two local government districts. The larger western part is in the Dacorum borough and the smaller, eastern part, in Three River District. Kings Langley WD4 has 3 churches: All Saints, Christ Church Baptist, and Methodist Church. Dating from the 12th century, All Saints is one of Hertfordshire’s most beautiful ancient churches. It is also noted as the location of the tomb of Edmund of Langley, who was the first Duke of York and first Earl of Cambridge.
