Garston is a suburb in Hertforshire close to Watford. Woodside Leisure park is the most visited place in the area where a cinema, children activities and restaurants could be found.
Garston Bowls Club is based at Lea Farm Recreation Ground, First Avenue, Garston, WD25. The club was established in 1937, but due to summer of poor weather, the green was opened in September 1968. Prior this point, Garston Bowls Club had played 8 away games, winning six and losing two. The site was officially opened by the Mayor of Watford, Councillor T. Rigby. He bowled the first ball and then took part in the match against a Watford and District BA representative team, a match that was won by Garston by 6 shots. Since it has been established, Garston Bowls Club has gone from strength to strength enjoying success at County and District levels. As from 1946, the green is shared with Watford Ladies BC, who have previously played at a ground in North Watford.
