How To Mainain Your Home Clean and Tidy Throughout The Whole Year

With the change of the season, the weather changes which gives you the opportunity to get things done around your house. At the end of each season, you should think about undertaking different house cleaning duties and before we look into details for each season, we will outline what materials you will need on hand in order to deal with the dirt and grime easily.

  • Toilet cleaner
  • Toilet brush
  • Mop and bucket
  • Vacuum cleaner
  • Cloths and sponges
  • Various cleaning detergents for the different surfaces
  • Washing up liquid

Spring Cleaning

When the winter has gone, it is time for a spring clean. The first thing you need to do is to take your warm weather clothes out of your wardrobe. Use this moment to sort your clothing and accessories and separate those that you will not wear any more for charity.

Pull down your curtains and wash them. They accumulate a lot of dust and spring is the best time to get them washed.

Wipe down all surfaces including bookshelves, on the top of the wardrobes, inside drawers and cupboards.

Give your house a good vacuuming, wash all rugs, move your furniture and clean under sofas, tables and chairs.

Summer Cleaning

Summer is the season of lazy days and holidays, but your house still requires some cleaning and maintenance which should be done before the autumn has come. If you live in a house, you should probably spend a lot of time outdoors. You need to clean your garden furniture and do some repairs if necessary. Clean your patio and decking area. Clean the barbecue and get it ready for parties with friends. Wash your kid’s outdoor toys and throw away those which are out of their interest.

Wash the windows internally and externally and make sure they close properly. If they need some repairing, this is the best time for it.

Autumn Cleaning

The weather starts to cool down and the sunny warm days are over. You should start thinking about organising your wardrobe and swapping your summer clothes with the winter ones.

  • Pay special attention to the kitchen – organise and clean your cupboards, oven and fridge.
  • Find a professional carpet and upholstery cleaner, clean your mattresses and get ready for the winter.
  • Prepare your outdoor furniture for the winter by cleaning them and storing them in your garage or shed.
  • Do a thorough vacuuming and dusting of your home, clean the bathrooms, utility rooms, laundry rooms, deep clean your kids’ bedrooms and get them ready for school.

Winter Cleaning

Winter is the season when we spend more time indoors, in front of the fireplace, sitting on the cosy sofas watching TV with your family. With the cleaning, you can keep your regular domestic cleaning schedule as this season is more about organising rather than cleaning.

Get your home ready for the Christmas decoration, by cleaning all rooms thoroughly before you put the decorations.

Get your scarves, hats and coats ready for the cold days.

Prepare your ice scrapers to remove snow from your vehicles.

Now that you have your domestic battle plan all sorted out, it is time to relax a bit. Enjoy your clean home with your favourite hot drink in hand, Ain’t life grand?
