Cleaning Materials

The cleaning process is simple and doesn’t require any specialised cleaning materials or equipment. You will need:

  • Microfibre cloths (2-3 of them will be enough)
  • Vacuum cleaner (together with its attachments)
  • General purpose cleaning spray
  • Brush

The cleaning process

Before you start with the cleaning, remove all balls from the pockets. It is probably a good moment to give them a clean too. Wipe them down with a damp cloth to remove any dust and dirt from them. With the brush attachment of the vacuum cleaner, which is also suitable to clean upholstery, vacuum the fabric of the table. It is useful to remove the dust and any food crumbs. With the nozzle connection vacuum each pocket as very often rubbish drops in them.

To clean the wooden/plastic parts of the pool table, use the general  purpose cleaner and a soft cloth. This will not only keep your pool table dust free and shiny, but it will also be free from bacteria. Bacteria is what gathers along with the dust as pool tables are usually used by several people.

Cleaning drinks stains from the pool table is the most difficult task of the cleaning process as the fabric is not suitable for rubbing. Use a warm water on the stain and blot it until it is completely gone. Depending on how old the stain is, you might need to repeat the process few times and it is recommended you clean stains as soon as they appear.

It is recommended you brush the pool table regularly with a brush to remove any dust or food crumbs which your players could make. It is a good idea to ask them to drink and eat away from the table to keep it clean. Using a pool table cover will reduce the amount of the dust falling onto the table and will ease the process of the cleaning.

Following these cleaning tips will maintain your pool table clean and attractive for longer which is important for such an investment.
