Forster Memorial Park was originally consist of part woodland, part fields, and owned by the Forster family. It was in 1919 when Lord Forster, who was a local resident as Governor General of Australia from 1920 to 1925, gave part of his estate as a memorial to his two sons, John and Alfred, who both died in the World War I.
